Cold Weather Boots
• If you live in a cold weather area you’ll need a warm pair of boots of well-fitting boots that look good too.
• Make sure they’re warm! Your boots should have an interior lined with warm fleece or (synthetic) fur so you don’t have to wear layers of socks with them.
• But take socks into consideration when choosing your size. If you prefer a thick sock, buy a ½ size bigger. Even better, take these socks with you when you are trying boots.
• If conditions are snowy make sure your boots have a low heel – you don’t want to slip. And the sole should provide adequate traction. Check the sole for a rubbery or other non-slippery material.
• Before buying boots think about what kinds of activities you might be doing in the boots. Choose a rugged boot for more hard core activities and a more lightweight boot as a fashionable choice.
• Make sure your boot material can stand the nastiest of weather. Suede and leather look good and can also withstand winter weather. Sheepskin (used on UGG boot) is not waterproof and must be treated prior to your first wearing with a waterproofing spray.
• Boots can be tall or shorter, based on your wardrobe and preference!
