Rock climbing
- Your rock climbing shoes are part of what holds you on the rock – make sure you buy a pair that works for you!
- Everyone should have an all-purpose climbing shoe. An all-day comfort shoe will work for indoor or outdoor climbing from beginners to novices. It will have a stiff sole and high-cut leather upper to protect your ankles.
- If you often climb specific surfaces like bouldering, faces, cracks, etc., buy a specialty shoe.
- Look for a comfortable but snug fit. You will get more performance if your toes are slightly bent at the knuckle, but make sure they aren’t bunched against the end of the shoe- if it’s uncomfortable when you try it on it will be agony out on the face!
