Snowboarding
• Your boots should be your first purchase as you put together your snowboarding gear – board, binding, boots, etc.
• What’s your riding style? Find boots that match where and how you usually snowboard.
• Boots consist of two parts, the liner and the outer shell. The liner keeps your feet snug and dry and may have it’s own lacing system. The outer boot has a stiffer upper section to support your ankle movement and more lacing.
• You have a choice between boots with a removable or an attched liner. Removable liners can be altered to fit your foot with add-ons or custom tweaks. They can also be removed to dry after using them. Removable liner boots tend to cost more than attached liner boots.
• There are three types of lacing systems for snowboarding boots: traditional, quick pull and Boa. Traditional laces are inexpensive, easy to replace and can tighten to your specifications. Quick pull laces are faster and convenient. They are a corset-like system which tightens/loosens with one pull. The Boa System consists of small cables attached to one or two dials that adjust the snugness of the fit. Boa is easy, takes just one hand and can be adjusted while wearing gloves.
